About the choir :
Formed in 1989, Sooke Community Choir provides choral entertainment for
our community of Sooke and surrounding areas. Our choir has 40 members
who enjoy performing a variety of music that includes popular, spirituals,
folksongs, traditional, and seasonal pieces.
We perform two concerts each year, in May and in December. Singing at community events, and for smaller gatherings are other ways we provide a service to our community. The choir has toured in Holland and Hong Kong.

Musical Leadership :
Sarah Holmes is a talented young woman, who has moved to Sooke after five years of teaching and conducting in England
Sarah has a wide range of musical experience, having conducted choirs, bands, and orchestras as well as directing musicals, singing, and playing numerous musical instuments.
How to join :
Thinking of joining a choir? We welcome anyone who wants to experience
the enjoyment of singing in harmony with others.
Sessions start in January and September. Come once or twice to try it out and see if you like it. There is no audition, and you will be assisted with voice placement if needed. We sing for the pure joy and pleasure it gives us, in an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and accepting. Practice CDs are provided .
Schedule:
Fall session begins September 8th, with new members welcome until September 29th.
